We then tokenized the text, removed all English stop words, and stemmed the remaining words. Subsequently, we generated part of speech tags, unigrams, and bigrams, which were weighted with a tf-idf (term frequency-inverse document frequency) score.

Our findings shed a new light on the consequences of sudden closure and/or police raids on dark marketplaces, which have been previously  discussed in the literature and analysed by law enforcement entities12,15,31. More broadly, we anticipate that our findings will help inform future research on the self-organisation of emerging online marketplaces.
